Purpose

We are now looking for a Solution Architect – M365 Platform to join Fortum's internal IT team. This is a key role combining architectural ownership with hands-on technical work and governance development. It also offers room to grow into broader responsibilities, such as service ownership and light product ownership in agile development settings (e.g., JIRA backlog management).

This position suits someone who has already worked with Microsoft 365 solutions and wants to take the next step—owning the roadmap, guiding maturity development, and leading change in a regulated enterprise setting. You don’t need to be a senior yet; what matters is your mindset, curiosity, and ability to take initiative.

Responsibilities

As a Solution Architect, you will:

• Design and evolve Fortum’s M365 architecture in a multi-vendor, cloud-based environment, focusing on the long-term roadmap and maturity.
• Develop governance models for Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, ensuring security, lifecycle management, and compliance.
• Act as a hands-on architect with the ability to plan and define practical rules and pipelines (e.g., site cleanup, lifecycle policies).
• Work closely with Fortum’s internal stakeholders across IT Security, Compliance, and business units to align M365 development with regulatory needs.
• Work independently, make decisions when needed, and drive initiatives forward in close cooperation with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in agile development cycles (JIRA), and if you are ready, take on responsibility for guiding backlog prioritisation and sprint focus—acting as a light Product Owner where needed.
  
  

Background and Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a relevant academic degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Brings solid hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Purview, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online) and ideally some knowledge of Power Platform governance.
• Has experience in developing governance models, security policies, lifecycle management, and compliance.
• Is familiar with agile ways of working (e.g., JIRA), and ideally has experience in supporting or owning backlogs.
• Is proactive, independent, and comfortable working outside their comfort zone—able to take ownership and make progress even in uncertainty.
• Has excellent communication skills in English; Finnish is considered an advantage.

Bonus if you also

• Have worked on Sensitivity labels or are familiar with tools like SysKit Point.
• Have experience supporting agile teams and roadmaps as a Product Owner or Service Manager.
