Purpose

As a Solutions Architect within Fortum’s Business IT function, you will join the Hydro team, specialising in tailored IT solutions and services to support the hydro business. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and documenting solutions within Fortum’s Hydro IT portfolio, focusing on integrating Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) interfaces and ensuring seamless data flows for business solutions like AI/ML services.

Responsibilities

• Solution Design: Designing and developing solutions tailored to the Hydro business needs, focusing on IT and OT interfaces and related infrastructure.
• Collaboration: Working in a small team within an international IT community and collaborating with various vendors.
• Documentation: Documenting solution designs and developments for clarity and future reference.
• Hybrid Environment Expertise: Handling hybrid landscapes involving both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Cybersecurity: Ensuring solutions adhere to high cybersecurity standards and principles.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with stakeholders to identify and address business challenges.
• Process Optimization: Improving work methodologies, governance, DevOps practices, and service processes.
• Technical Skills: Utilizing skills in Linux and Windows server environments, IoT technologies, and data communication standards (e.g., Kepware, OPC, MQTT).

Background & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of documented experience in relevant roles, with a strong background in software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Prior experience in on-premises systems.
• Demonstrated experience in integrating IT and OT systems.
• Documentation management skills using SharePoint or similar tools.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
• Ability to communicate efficiently with stakeholders such as Cloud Developers and other Architects, as well as Business Counterparts.
• Understanding of cybersecurity practices, Swedish legislation related to cybersecurity, and physical security measures.
• Exposure to IoT solutions and their end-to-end implementation.

• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible mindset & team player.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have skills:

• Service architecture (including DevOps and governance processes).
• Experience in container technologies, such as Kubernetes.
• A software developer background is an asset but not a requirement.
