Mechanical Engineer

The position is based in Finland.
Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will actively contribute to the reactor mechanical design. You will work with internal teams and external partners to help define specifications, support licensing, and ensure high-quality engineering outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the mechanical design of reactor components, primary circuit systems, and supporting equipment.
- Prepare engineering specifications, documentation, and inputs for licensing activities.
- Collaborate with external experts and partners for specialized topics (e.g., strength analysis, welding, manufacturing processes).
- Support design reviews, manufacturability assessments, and supplier interactions.
- Contribute to the definition and control of mechanical interfaces, materials selection, NDT requirements, welding specifications, and pressure equipment considerations.
- Assist with qualification and validation activities for components and systems.
- Work in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to problem solving and cross-disciplinary alignment.
Background and Requirements:
- Relevant academic degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally with exposure to nuclear, or complex regulated industries.
- Broad mechanical engineering knowledge (e.g. materials, welding, manufacturing, NDT, strength analysis, pressure equipment, rotating machinery, valves, pumping/piping systems)
- Experience preparing technical specifications
- Team-oriented personality with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
