AESC is looking to recruit an Electrolyte Filling and Soaking Specialist to join our European Engineering Centre and play a vital role in the production of high-performance battery cells. This role focuses on the precision handling of electrolyte filling and soaking processes, ensuring safety and adherence to quality standards. Flexibility to travel between remote and site-based locations is essential.
The Electrolyte Filling and Soaking Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and executing critical chemical processes during cell production. This role ensures consistency, quality, and safety while contributing to the expansion of our advanced battery manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform precise filling of electrolytes into battery cells, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee the soaking process to achieve optimal electrolyte absorption.
- Monitor and record filling data to ensure consistency and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to electrolyte distribution or cell performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial, electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering)
- Experience in handling chemical processes in a controlled manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail and knowledge of safety regulations for handling chemicals.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to work with precision machinery.
Background and Requirements
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations for handling and processing chemicals, including familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining precision chemical machinery and tools used in the electrolyte filling process.
- Ability to monitor and document process parameters, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Basic understanding of chemical compatibility and its effects on materials and processes.
- Ability to quickly acquire a working knowledge of lithium-ion batteries.
- Experience with new models and equipment design, installation and commissioning.
- Design, construction and commissioning of a new plant, an asset.
- Ability to apply technical math skills to solve real-world problems.
- Experience working and leading a team across cultural and disciplinary boundaries
- Fluency in French and English.
