AESC is hiring Degassing Engineers to oversee and optimize a safety-critical step in advanced battery production—removing gases generated during cell formation.
AESC is looking to recruit Degassing Engineers to join our European Engineering Centre and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of battery cell formation processes. This position is essential for maintaining operational excellence and supporting the commissioning and operation of our gigafactories. Flexibility to travel between remote and site-based locations is required.
The Degassing Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimising the degassing process, a key step in battery cell formation, to remove gases generated during production. This role involves working with specialized equipment, maintaining strict safety standards, and contributing to the development of cutting-edge battery technology.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the degassing process, ensuring effective removal of gases generated during cell formation.
- Operate specialized equipment to maintain a safe and efficient degassing environment.
- Conduct regular checks and maintenance of degassing systems.
- Maintain safety standards to minimize risks associated with gas release.
Qualifications:
- Experience in gas management or chemical manufacturing.
- Understanding of battery chemistry and formation processes.
- Ability to handle safety-critical operations with precision.
Background and Requirements
- Proven experience in gas management systems or chemical manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with degassing equipment and technologies used in battery cell production.
- Prior experience working in a controlled manufacturing environment, such as energy storage, chemical plants, or high-tech industries.
- Proficiency in operating, calibrating, and maintaining degassing systems.
- Understanding of gas behaviour in battery cells during the formation and degassing phases.
- Knowledge of safety regulations for managing gas release and handling hazardous materials.
- Ability to monitor and record process parameters to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with gas flow, pressure, or system malfunctions.
- Experience working and leading a team across cultural and disciplinary boundaries
- Fluency in French and English.
