AESC is hiring Mechanical Inspection Engineers to ensure precision and quality in battery cell production.
AESC is looking to recruit Mechanical Inspection Engineers to join our European Engineering Centre and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and precision of battery cell production. This role is essential for supporting our manufacturing excellence and maintaining defect-free standards across our gigafactories. Flexibility to travel between remote and site-based locations is essential.
The Mechanical Inspection Engineer will work closely with quality assurance and production teams to inspect and measure key parameters of battery cells, using advanced tools and technologies. This role will also contribute to the seamless integration of inspection systems during the commissioning and operation of new gigafactories.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections using visual, camera, and leak detection equipment.
- Measure critical parameters, including weight and width of battery cells.
- Maintain and operate inspection tools and software to identify manufacturing defects.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure defect-free production.
Qualifications
- Background in mechanical engineering or quality assurance.
- Proficiency with inspection tools and automation systems.
- Keen attention to detail and familiarity with industrial standards.
Background and Requirements
- Experience in mechanical inspection within a manufacturing or high-tech production environment.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and camera-based systems.
- Previous experience in battery manufacturing or industries requiring precision inspection of components is desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in conducting visual inspections and operating equipment such as leak detection systems.
- Proficiency in measuring key parameters such as dimensions, weight, and thickness to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Knowledge of inspection protocols and ability to document results accurately.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical inspection systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality control processes and defect analysis.
- Experience working and leading a team across cultural and disciplinary boundaries
- Fluency in French and English.

- High attention to detail to ensure all components meet strict quality specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
