This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Spain's highest profile manufacturing plants as Envision AESC is building a new battery manufacturing plant in Naval de la Mata, Extremadura, to support its business growth in Europe. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large-scale industrial developments in many years, where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.
The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for the plan, design and implement operational strategy for a new battery manufacturing plant. Hire and establish an operations team the new plant. Launch and sustain operations using global/regional KPI management as well as develop and implement relevant training programs to achieve a seamless start of production.
Responsibilities will include:
- Creation of company culture aligned with the global organization’s principals, including innovation and efficiency optimization
- Hire and manage the operations leadership team
- Implement and maintain AESC production within this region
- Develop long-term operational strategy and targets to be achieved
- Drive Continuous Improvement activities (Process, System, Capability & Cost)
- Manage manufacturing costs
- Monitor employee productivity and satisfaction
- Create as well as manage team and individual goals
Background and requirements
- Extensive Automotive experience, at a senior level. Complex and high-quality Tier 1 Automotive supply experience is desirable.
- Master’s degree in business administration, finance, or other related fields
- Greenfield or brownfield experience
- Fluent in Spanish and English

Work at a world-class and innovative Gigafactoryy
AESC is investing almost two billion euros to build a battery manufacturing plant in the Hauts-de-France Region. The new Douai site will have a production capacity of 9GWh in 2024, with the potential to reach 24GWh by 2030 to produce state-of-the-art, low-carbon batteries. The site will initially supply the Renault factory which will be increasingly dedicated to producing the brand’s electric vehicles.
