Purpose
AESC is looking for a Senior Manager, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Purchasing to work on large-scale new engineering procurement construction projects. The products consist of state-of-the-art cutting-edge technology in battery production. The role requires strong cross-functional working relationships with, industrialization team, finance, supply chain, and various other internal stakeholders. You will interact with stakeholders across all levels of the organization supporting them in the purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and requirements. Exceptional interpersonal, communication and writing skills are required. The successful candidate would have solid experience in purchasing, be self-motivated, collaborative and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish project-specific procurement strategies
- Stay updated on market trends and source products/services at reasonable prices
- Create and execute procurement plans
- Organize bidding, vendor selection, and contracts
- Lead a team of CAPEX contract managers
- Renegotiate plans as needed
- Utilize SAP for PO/PR management
- Proactively seek cost-saving solutions
- Collaborate with global suppliers and vendors
- Coordinate and support global projects
Background & Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated success in procurement and contract management, with a preference for experience in MEP/CSA, construction, or facilities aspects of large industrial construction projects (€100 million+ capex).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Power BI and SAP.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, cost analysis, and contract negotiations.
- Experience in project controls or construction management is preferred.
- Experience in the semiconductor, battery, construction, or automotive industries is highly desirable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a minimum of C1 proficiency in English.
- Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring peers on project management and execution best practices.
- Willingness to travel
