SHEQ & Regulatory Job Description


SHEQ Summary, Accountability & Objectives:


As QESH Coordinator you perform reporting, risk assessments and auditing. You ensure operations are conducted in an incident and injury free culture; and implement QESH policies and procedures in conformance to law and safety regulations. As RA Coordinator you ensure product compliance and coordinate all regulatory affairs & actions.

 

QESH Key Responsibilities:


• Manage, monitor and control the Quality system and certification;
• Perform internal audits including the follow-up and reporting of the status of detected non-conformities;
• Ensure optimal QESH performance by setting & monitoring Key Performance Indicators, gather relevant data and report;
• Act as Prevention Advisor (cfr. Codex) and Environment Coordinator (cfr. VLAREM);
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with QESH standards and legislation/government regulations;
• Carrying out risk assessments;
• Accident/incident reporting, perform post-incident investigations and take preventive measures;
• Encourage and develop a ‘safety first’ culture and awareness;
• Develop safety plans (e.g prevention plan, emergency plan; etc.) and define/undertake actions to execute the plans;
• Coordinate quarterly meeting with First Aid and First Intervention team and follow up that the necessary trainings are followed;
• First point of contact for all QESH matters, internally and externally, e.g. in case of inspections and audits;
• Manage, review and update QESH documentation, e.g. registers, procedures, instructions, forms;
• Submit QESH declarations and reports in line with requirements, both internally and externally;
• Follow the necessary training in order to remain up-to-date about all relevant QESH matters;
• Conduct QESH training and education programs and provide QESH onboarding for new hires;
• Follow up on safety, ADR, environment, … legislation and ensure adherence to it.
 

SHEQ Product safety & RA:


• Advise in creation of MSDS and communication to key stakeholders;
• Label marking according CLP regulations;
• Set up, implement and maintain efficient regulatory projects, processes and systems for all aspects in the regulatory product life-cycle;
• Foster active communication and awareness of emerging issues and opportunities with internal key stakeholders (R&D, Marketing, …)
• Serve as point of contact for certification of products and related audits
• Follow-up of regulatory legislation and evaluate impact on business.

Health and Safety Skills & Qualifications:


• Qualifications: Master’s degree (Chemistry, Safety/environment engineer, civil engineering, others) is required.
• Certification Prevention Advisor 2 is required + additional HSE certificates (First Aid, First Intervention, ADR…).
• Certification Environment Coordinator Type A.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in QESH/RA role
 

HSE Knowledge:


o You are familiar with the international ISO standard norms ISO 9001, ISO14001
o Knowledge of QESH & RA legislation and procedures
• Languages: fluency in Dutch and English
