Location: Germany

The Position: SHE Manager

The SHE Manager will be in-charge of a number of roles including the evaluation of the workplace environment, development of safety-management policies that identify and define the safety responsibilities of all employees, and the maintenance of appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the organization.

Key Accountabilities of SHE Manager:

  • The SHE Manager will be responsible for monitoring compliance, implementation and further development of SH&E processes and guidelines taking into account the current legislation
  • Advising managers and employees on issues of occupational safety, health protection and environmental protection will also be roles within the SHE Manager
  • The SHE Manager will have to take responsibility of identification, implementation and optimization of security-relevant processes and security requirements including risk assessments
  • Planning, organization and implementation of self-inspections in the areas of occupational safety, environmental protection, operating resources and work processes is the role of the SHE Manager
  • As SHE Manager the candidate will be expected to cooperate with authorities as well as with the professional association, police, fire brigade, emergency and rescue services
  • Another role within the SHE Manager job is the acquisition, processing and documentation of occupational safety and environmental data as well as reporting of the data to the group and to the site management, determination and evaluation of KPIs
  • Coordination and organization of company fire protection at the respective location is the responsibility of the SHE Manager
  • As SHE Manager it will be an expectation that coordination and further development of SH&E training courses are put in place
  • Personnel responsibility for two SH&E employees and for the fire department in certain locations is also within the SHE Manager job role

Qualifications & Education required for SHE Manager:

  • It is a requirement that the SHE Manager has successfully completed a degree in engineering or security management
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the relevant area of ​​responsibility is required for the SHE Manager position
  • The client is looking for an individual with very good knowledge of operational and plant safety to fill the SHE Manager position
  • To be successful in the SHE Manager role knowledge of chemistry is absolutely necessary

Skills/Experience/Knowledge preferable for SHE Manager:

  • A knowledge of fire protection and event management as well as in the area of ​​chemical processes and systems would be ideal for the SHE Manager position
  • Ideally the SHE Manager will be a specialist for occupational safety (KO criterion)
  • High affinity for relevant laws, regulations and guidelines will make the right SHE Manager candidate stand out
  • The SHE Manager will need to have very good spoken and written German and English skills
  • Safe handling of MS Office, SAP and Quentic (EcoWebDesk) will be an ideal skill for the SHE Manager
  • The SHE Manager will need a high understanding of occupational safety
