Our client is part of a multi-national US-owned company. Developing, manufacturing and marketing advanced industrial lubricants & line marking systems. 

The purpose of the Sales Manager role is to develop a portfolio of existing customers, seek out opportunities to set up sustainable and profitable growth with new targeted customers across focus segments and through Industrial Distribution networks. Implement territory plans to support the region to successfully deliver the annual plan. Home office vacancy - based in Benelux region. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for all revenue growth activity in the territory.
  • You will be in charge of driving profitable growth of the territory by generating end-user demand and creating and converting leads.
  • Monitoring performance and taking steps to develop the pipeline will also be within the Sales Manager job role
  • Responsible for executing and optimising the channel strategy.
  • Working alongside segment specialist to identify and exploit opportunities to grow the new and existing business across the focus segments.
  • Responsibility of the candidate to promote the growth of distributor sales at the branch level by leveraging relationships at the National/Head Office. Develop and nurture relationships with the current distribution network and key strategic distributor branches.
  • Expected to proactively build customer relationships through influencing, negotiating and creating an environment to maximise account opportunities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for prospecting and protecting revenue in the territory by executing the sales process.
  • Exploit the value propositions to drive value-based sales growth.
  • Take ownership of customers’ needs and work with the business to expedite the resolution of customer problems and deliver a great customer experience.
  • Providing insight on customer needs, problems, interests, opportunities and competitor activities will also be included within the Sales Manager job role.
  • Maintain certain key relationships both internally and externally

Qualifications & Education

  • The Sales Manager will need experience of identifying updates in the industry or applications and the impact on the value proposition.
  • Experience of matching products/solutions to meet customer needs to drive sales will be essential.
  • The Sales Manager  will need to be able to effectively prioritise sales time between accounts and other opportunities
  • It is a requirement that the Sales Manager  has proven experience of using sales processes to advance opportunities and gain commitment for agreed next step (e.g. demonstrations, increased volume etc.)
  • Ability to travel and holds a valid driving license is a requirement.
  • Fluent, both verbal and written, in Dutch as well as English & French


  • Significant experience operating as a valued based field sales professional with the ability to position benefits and identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities. Ideally in a technical/differentiated product environment.
  • Good experience of developing relationships and driving sales growth through channel partners (industrial distribution networks) will be beneficial.
  • To be successful in the Sales Manager position the candidate will need excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels internally and externally.
  • Agility to perform within different market segments: e.g. Food, Metal Working and Industrial.
  • Being able to build an effective rapport, as well as understand the customer decision making process and being able to identify customer needs.
  • Naturally strong interpersonal skills, forming and maintaining positive relationships with the ability to work collaboratively.
