The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the local Sales organization and growing and maintaining
the local business. Aside from managing and coordinating the day-to-day business, responsibilities include
managing, coordinating, building and developing the local team and business as well as compliance with
local legislation and other applicable regulations and requirements.

Typical Tasks will include, but are not limited to;

  • Supervising creation of new business and sales opportunities;
  • Supervises negotiations on local contracts and agreements in consultation with the Sales branch manager;
  • Managing existing business and (direct and indirect) customer relationships;
  • Implementing marketing & sales techniques and methodologies;
  • Developing an annual sales and growth plan for each sales area;
  • Organizing and structuring the sales team and sales activities;
  • Developing, monitoring and maintaining annual sales plan and budget
  • Provides proactive commercial and marketing support to head office initiatives;
  • Cooperating with the Local Technical Support manager and team.
  • Manage and supervise the local Sales Team;
  • Manage agreed geographical area (territory);
  • Manage, monitor, motivate and set targets for the Sales Team. Build up the Annual Operating Plan and
  • Regular visits to the main Customer, Opportunities & Distributors in the country and support the team at all the other Customers, Opportunities & Distributors in their territory, and if necessary join sales calls to potential large accounts;
  • Manage specific Global European Accounts in Europe and develop growth strategies and (European pricing agreements for those Accounts.
  • Identify new markets for (new) products and (new) services through all channels within the country or for Europe;
  • Continuously collect data on market trends, competitive products and pricing and update the CRM database with the latest information;
  • Follow up of the sales methodologies and the sales opportunities in the sales areas and monitor the
  • CRM reporting;

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate should have;

  • A degree in Chemical or Technical Engineering with at least several years of commercial experience preferably in higher value B2B consumable goods industry;
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, extrovert, self-motivator, diplomatic, sense of humour, internationally oriented;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and develop cross-functional relationships at all levels inside a customer; Strong communication, selling and presentation skills, but also analytical;
  • Flexible mind - able to cope with different cultures;
  • Aside from local language fluent in English;
  • Preferably a network of contacts within the (metalworking) industry;
  • Demonstrated sales and marketing ability and successes;
  • Innovative and inspiring;
