With its European headquarters in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands, manufactures and supplies a range of metalworking products, including water-based and straight oil coolants for metal cutting and grinding, as well as formulations for numerous other types of metalworking applications such as cleaning and forming. Sales and distribution take place through its own sales branches in nine different European countries as well as via distributors in other countries. They are continuously building its reputation for supplying added value with high-quality products together with high-level product application expertise. Product development is based on customer and market feedback leading to continuous improvement in current products as well as new formulations.

The Position: Sales Branch Manager

The Sales Branch Manager Leads, Manages, co-ordinates, builds and develops the local team and business. The Branch Manager is responsible for General Management, Sales and marketing in the country with planning, budget and Profit & Loss responsibility; this includes annual and long term sales and financial planning (Net Sales, budgets and P&L). A constant goal to develop and maintain strong and profitable customer relationships with both current and potential (direct and indirect Customers and Distributors)

Key Accountabilities of Sales Branch Manager:

  • It will be a responsibility of the Sales Branch Manager to be supervising creation of new business and sales opportunities
  • The Sales Branch Manager will be expected to supervise negotiations on local contracts and agreements
  • It is in the job description for the Sales Branch Manager to manage existing business and (direct and indirect) customer relationships
  • Implementing marketing & sales techniques and methodologies will also be within the Sales Branch Manager job role
  • It will be a responsibility of the Sales Branch Manager to implement an annual sales and growth plan for each sales area;
  • The Sales Branch Manager will be in charge of organizing and structuring the sales team and sales activities
  • Developing, monitoring and maintaining annual sales plan and budget will also be a responsibility of the Sales Branch Manager
  • It is an expectation that the Sales Branch Manager will be providing proactive commercial and marketing support to head office initiatives
  • Supervising Local Technical Support manager and team will also be the Sales Branch Managers job
  • It will be part of the Sales Branch Manager’s role to manage and supervise the local Team as well as manage agreed geographical area (territory);
  • As Sales Branch Manager the candidate will be expected to manage, monitor, motivate and set targets for the Sales Team. Build up the Annual Operating
  • Being the Sales Branch Manager, the individual is expected to plan, and Long-Range Plan based upon targets set
  • The Sales Branch Manager the individual will conduct regular visits to the main Customer, Opportunities & Distributors in the country and support the team at all the other Customers, Opportunities & Distributors in their territory, and if necessary, join sales calls to potential large accounts
  • It is part of the Sales Branch Manager job role to manage specific Global European Accounts in Europe and develop growth strategies and (European) pricing agreements for those Accounts
  • Identification of new markets for (new) products and (new) services through all channels within the country or for Europe is another role in the Sales Branch Manager job description
  • As Sales Branch Manager the individual is expected to continuously collect data on market trends, competitive products and pricing and update the CRM database with the latest information
  • Following up of the sales methodologies and the sales opportunities in the sales areas and monitor the CRM reporting is another role for the Sales Branch Manager
  • As Sales Branch Manager the individual will be responsible for implementing marketing programs for products or product groups;

Qualifications & Education required for Sales Branch Manager:

  • A university degree in business or MBA or Technical Engineering is a requirement for the Sales Branch Manager
  • The candidate is ideally looking for a candidate with at least 5-10 years in commercial experience preferably in B2B consumable goods industry for the Sales Branch Manager position
  • Aside from local language the Branch Sales Manager will need to be fluent in English (German and/or French is a pre)

Skills/Experience/Knowledge preferable for Sales Branch Manager:
