The Client:
Our client manufactures and supplies lubricant products globally, active in both the Automotive and Industrial sectors. They operate in over 20 countries and are one of the world’s most recognisable brands. With strong marketing coupled with great product range, they are aiming to become the top supplier globally.

Location: Germany    

The Position: Financial Controller
Responsible and accountable for managing the Finance department, supporting the Company strategy in alignment with European Headquarter and collaboration with local Head of Market/ Head of cluster.


Key Accountabilities: 

  • Strong integration with all departments
  • Strong interaction and integration with Europe and Corporate finance departments/functions

Manages the Finance team and coordinates the Finance department activities:

  • Statutory accounting: general ledger accounting and taxes, coordinating accounts receivable & payables, asset accounting, statutory financials
  • Monthly reporting to the Group
  • Under the direction of EMEA Business Controlling functions: budgeting, forecasting and business monthly reporting
  • Under the direction of EMEA headquarter manages credit control
  • Under the direction of EMEA Corporate Finance & Treasury, manages banking and cash flow forecasting

Manages financial risk & compliance activities:

  • Under the coordination of EMEA Risk & Governance, coordinates Financial Control Framework testing
  • Under the coordination of EMEA Financial controller, relates with external auditors

Under the direction of EMEA finance Headquarter, supports the business and projects with strong related financial impact in the Country:

  • Support investments decision both for key Capex and Opex initiatives
  • Drives financial awareness and profitability focus within-country organization
  • Drives cash-generating/improving initiatives

Key Challenges:

  • Support organization in the change management process and business turn-around by playing a leading role within the leadership team and country organization
  • Manage multiple activities/initiatives with tight deadlines
  • Support and coordinate financial activities related to project requirements
  • Facilitate the standardization of finance processes under the guidance of EMEA finance team

Qualifications & Education:

  • Master Degree in Economics/Finance

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Planning and controlling skills
  • Accountant Skills: IFRS Accounting Standards
  • Good knowledge of English Language
  • Min 3/5 years of finance experience
  • Tax/Cash Flow/Accounting Areas
  • Good SAP proficiency
  • Team Management skills
